Default Lower stock side steps?

I need a comfortable way to get grandma into the slightly lifted discovery. Has anyone lowered their stock running boards?

Is there a good folding step option?

There are aftermarket folding step systems, pretty expensive though. Don't suppose you have a SLS system?

Unless there's a universal one, I haven't found powered ones that would fit.

Rough country doesn't show anything for our trucks and the other brand ARIES, I can't find any that have been installed on a discovery 2.

But I'll keep looking, I like the idea of them, they seem to step down the lowest compared to the fixed position ones

not ideal, but have you looked at collapsible step stools that could ride in the back when not being used?

You could probably have a local welding shop cut and extend your existing steps for a few hundred dollars. $300-400 I'd guess, but that will vary depending on where you live.

Mine is lifted as well and I carry a small step stool for an older woman who has difficulty stepping up into my truck.

I was thinking a similar solution would be to extend the brackets a few inches. I suppose you could only do the passenger side if money were a concern.

These would be awesome (sliders and powered step) but you would have to contact them and ask if they have a size that is close or if they could modify an existing design for the D2.

I like this also! I bet this could be modified! Thanks for sharing this site, I haven't run across it yet in my hunting! Just emailed them to see if any of their models would fit our trucks
