Default LR4 V8 Source

Does anyone know the source of the new LR4 V8? Is it a Ford 5.0L? A new Tata design?

Default Jaguar...

Well at least that is what it says in the article that I had read.

Now as to who owns Jaguar and where those Jag engines actually come from is a whole different matter in itself.

No, not ford design at all. Its all land rover and Jag.

It has been since the lr3.

The only ford design was the 4.0 litre V6.

These engines are designed in house. The diesels were designed with Peugot in mind as well. They were designed at the Gaydon engine center coowned with Ford, LRjag, Peugot.

oh and no more drain tube, you have to come to the dealer to get an oil change cause we suck the oil out thru a special machine.

Nothing LR was ever built by Ford except the LR3 V6 (Ford Explorer engine shipped to the UK) and the Puma diesel.
Just because Ford used to own them does NOT mean it was built by Ford.

Default Lr v8

I"m wondering if the 5.0L in the LR4 is the same "new" 5.0L engine Ford is using in the 2010 Mustang.
