Default LRT-19-009, Fuel Pump Replacement

Just going through the manual on replacing the fuel pump and noticed the step for using an actual tool from land rover for the lock ring. Is this tool a must or will a similar tool/device work. Thanks

You can pull the pump without it. What is wrong with yours?

Thanks. Mine started leaking through the top connector. I posted some pics on a thread last week or so. Spike suggested sealing it and trying that first. I did and didn't keep it from leaking. Fuel seeps out of the top of the fuel pump when ever the truck is running. I have a used fuel pump headed this way now. Just wanted to check into the right steps and tools for the job.
Thanks

Just use a big flat head screwdriver and a small hammer, tap gently yet firmly.
