when I select 3 on my disco 2 2004 I get a blinking m &s lights. wont go away til I put in neutral or drive turn the truck off then back on again. sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it off running through the box then off and back on again. when they blink the truck goes just reves no movement. upon normal operation when I turn the truck on and select d its fine. I can push the mode button and the s will light up. push it again and it goes off. where do I start on this issue. thanks

 

If check engine light is not coming on, for other stored codes, then according to the RAVE shop manual you have the tranny computer detecting less than 9 volts on the power connections. Look at weak battery, bad connection, expecially on the black cable from negative battery terminal that bonds to chassis in a few places.
