M&S lights flashed when offroading
I was driving offroad earlier today (lots of bouncing around over small- to medium-sized rocks) and the M&S + the "D" drive indicator started flashing. I looked it up and it seems this is usually electrical—battery or alternator-related. It spooked me a bit and I decided to go back to an area that was more accessible, as I didn't want to get stuck in a remote location. I had a battery boost pack, but still didn't want to chance it.
When I turned the car off and back on, everything seemed fine and the lights went away. Could this have been caused by the bouncing around on the trail perhaps jiggling one of the battery terminals loose a little, or something like that? Anything else I should/could do to diagnose?

Happened to me a while back. I was in 12-15 inches of snow and laying into the gas pedal to get moving. Lights started flashing. I got back in my other tracks, cut it off, back on, no lights. Hasn't caused me any trouble since then.
The only time I've seen that is when I had a connector off on the transmission and when my battery was low and dying. I like Alex's answer better. He has a great video about "drifting" a Disco II in snow that may explain the issue. Definitely worth a watch and I wish I could find the link. It also has a legal angle, too! Haha

Haha, I had almost forgotten about the video. Here you go.
Might have to recreate that one with more camera angles. Fender cam, roof cam, stationary cam off to the side. Maybe a different parking lot though where campus PD doesn't have jurisdiction.
The following 15+ minutes of me getting a "Reckless Driving in a Parking Lot" ticket is on the same channel I believe.
