First, there are 2 sensors inside our MAF, not one.
The difference between the 99 to 02 MAF and the 03-04 is the size of the barrel, the 03-04 have a slightly larger intake.

Yes, but it's one "part" the two sensors are integrated. I've had mine apart and the numbers on the 99 are the same as the numbers on the 03.

On the CRC video I watched on you tube they removed the MAF and soaked it down. I used half a can at least on mine, then let it dry for about an hour which was probably longer than necessary.

Just installed a new Bosch 0280217532 MAF in my Discovery 2 from Partsgeek - Paid $125.25. Ground shipping was free to NH.

Bosch # 0-280-217-532 is the factory number. Air mass meters are only good for 100k or ten plus years. You can replace both your front 02 sensors, and the next day trip a air mass meter fault. Old meter cannot keep up with new 02 sensors. Air mass meters are a consumable part like spark plugs.

Had a Service Engine light pop up a couple of weeks ago, threw a code that the MAF circuit was low. Engine ran worse, stumbling at idle and at light throttle. My D2 has 174k miles, so it was pretty obvious the MAF had failed. I researched a lot of posts, found one post somewhere that said Partsgeek had OEM Bosch MAF's. I installed it in less than 5 minutes, cleared the code with my code reader and right away I knew the problem was better; runs smooth, starts well. No stumbling and most important, after two days no Service Engine light.
