TC fill plug is super easy.. why are people having such a hard time with it?

3" or so wobble joint 1/2" size attached to a good driver is all you need. if you still cant get the tilt right, use a longer extension.

u joint WILL cause you problems, which is what i suspect most are trying to use

Default changing fluids

I dont know who's idea I stole, but you sir are a rock star.
What i'm refeering too is; someone suggested useing a pump up bug sprayer to replace the fluids. You know the ones with the wands on them, I got a two gallon at HD for something like $25.00. I cut the spray tip off and left about 10 inches of wand. I filled it with 7 quarts of gear lube pumped it up and filled both diffs and transfer case. Cleaned it out and filled it with 6 quarts of ATF and did the tranny. No gear oil running down my arm, no trying to be superman squeezing bottle after bottle, or having hoses pop off the bottle. It almost made it a pleasure to change fluids, almost.

Default clutch

Is clutch cable replacement a professional job or can I, a reasonable competent diy person do it.

Default 2001 land rover II 113k miles

i am about to purchase a 2001 disco II with 113k miles...it had a small oil leak which i believe is coming from oil cooler lines. bottom of the engine is somewhat coated and looks like it is coming from area of the lines. i have read that the oil cooler lines are somewhat of a problem on these. i'm sure it will also need new seals on the oil pan, valve covers and prolly the rear main just to be safe. i do not believe the heads are leaking, but from what i've read it sounds like its only a matter of time. i'd like to thank everyone, especially discomike for ALL that i have learned. i am not a mechanic but think with the rave files that i could do most of the work myself short of the head gaskets. i dont know that i want to get that involved in tearing apart a thousand parts and try to get them back where they go. and i plan on doing the 60k service, although its obviously well past that. and also plan on rebuilding the front driveshaft, i like my tranny w/o a giant hole in it, lol. any other suggestions as far as what else i should do right away and what to do in the near future? front brakes are brand new but i need to do the rears soon. that shouldnt be much of a problem... thanks again for ALL the advice, its been a ton of help!!

While this is not the best spot on the forum to leave questions, here is a thought for you - many posts have been made about positive results for an oil leak stop product called White Shepard, might be just what you need for gaskets, etc. Just post in the regular areas of the forum and you will get a lot more responses.

But do you really want to put gunk in your engine? White Shepard is only a band aid on a gushing wound. If a seal needs fixed IT NEEDS fixed. Not band aided.

Disco Mike-You listed the M1-301 oil filter but their site/others also list the M1-204 for the 2004 Land Rover Discovery. Go with the recommended filter or does it matter in this case?

Whats the best place to find parts for this thing? Looking for the 2 o'rings that RAVE tells you to discard with changing both diffs. Is the transmission sealing washers the same as the oil pan washer because I've had trouble finding it also and trying to avoid the Nashville dealership which has a horrible rep.
