Making 1 rover out of 2
I will soon have 2 Land Rover Discovery II 2000 models. One had a rollover, and the other had an engine fire (melted the fenders).
My plan is to swap in everything from the doors forward from the rollover onto the one that had the engine fire. Also, the one that had the rollover came with a ton of options that the burnt one did not have. So I’ll also be swapping over stuff like the jump seats, sound system, etc.
My approach will be to park them nose to nose, do this in sections, and replace whole components at once—for instance, the whole wiring harness from the rollover will be tagged, removed, and installed in the other.
I’m worried about one thing, and that is whether or not there is a rollover shut-off device, and how it is activated. Anybody know?
P.S. I already know that it’s going to be a huge job, along the lines of 100 hours or so. You can try to dissuade me, but I probably won’t listen.
Thanks,
Paul B
