If you put a set on a D2, the ETC would pick up the lack of front traction and throw all the power to the front wheels and you would be unable to drive the truck in forward or reverse unless you cad a CDL to hold all the power to the rear wheels. Doing that though would put a strain on the rear suspension and diff that were not designed for constant rear wheel drive only.
So to answer your question, take this off your list of things to do.

Can you post a link to Warn and/or Mile Marker's website where they list manual hubs for a Discovery, I'd like to see that. I would bet that when they list Land Rover the kit is for the Series trucks that are part time 4 wheel drive and use manual hubs.
As Disco Mike mentioned, the Discovery's differentials are not designed to be run in 2 wheel drive. They are designed so that the load is split between the front and rear differentials. The spider gears in the differentials are weak and will break quickly when run in 2 wheel drive. Plus without a locking center differential all your power will be sent to the front axle since that is where the least resistance will be.

The Warn lists nothing specific to the Rover axle. The other site lists manual hubs for 10-spline axles which haven't been used in a Rover since the early 90s (92 I believe was the last year for 10-spline axles).
Not trying to beat you up but if you thought to ask this someone alse has thought of it also. Just don't want to see someone spend money on something that won't work on their vehicle.
