Okay, so no one on this forum has had to get into their seats for some reason or another?
NO one? im thinking it could be a gear thats is out of place and I simply need to follow the RAVE instructions on how to get at the mechanism, or its even simpler and its the **** worn out on the attaching nut on the outside of the seat....

I have had this problem so don't worry, you need to replace the ****. Its plastic on the inside, as well as outside, and the inside plastic peice that keeps it secure to the metal bar has broken at some point. Take it off and it will make more sense. Its not that hard to fix the problem, four bolts take the seats out flip it upside down and you will see what I'm talking about.

Im not very good at explaining this online, does that make sense?

Default 2004 Freelander havin same problem

My passenger side seat recliner **** has the same problem.

Where would one get a new ****? Looked around on-line and can't seem to find any.

Are there any Land Rover parts site that sell original part replacements?

Thanks.
