Default Master Cylinder / Front Brakes -- which first?

All,
I need to replace the master cylinder, rotors, and pads for the front of my Discovery.

Is there a suggested order? I was thinking brakes, but not sure if one option would get less air in my lines than another.

Also - on the brake pads? Even with the shims that the manufacturer puts on the back, is everyone still suggesting sound deadening on back?

Thoughts??

Thanks
Matt

Why do you think you need a new master cylinder?
You can buy sound deadening spray at the parts store.
As for the brake, put some good ones on so you have less chance of them squeaking.
Look at Atlantic British for their brake special on sale.

my brake fluid levels are fine, no leaks.
foot goes almost to the floor when i press the brakes. however, if i pump a few times the pressure is built back up to 'near normal'.

this would seem like a sign of a master cylinder.

my thought is i should do the front brakes first, so when compressing the caliper to put new pads in i dont send old fluid back into my new master cylinder. if i do brakes/pads, then master cylinder, then fluid change i am thinking that would be best.

any major reasons why i should do the master cylinder first??

thanks
matt

Air in the lines , replace the pads and do a full bleed on the system.

The pedal will go to the floor no matter how much you pump.
