Default Master Cylinder Leak?

Hey all,

My master cylinder looks like it has corrosion from brake fluid on top. -- see photo -- I wonder if this looks like I should replace the cylinder. The area is not wet however. Brakes are somewhat spongy but I am going to bleed them again tomorrow to make sure no air in the system.

If there is no evidence of brake fluid leaking now I wouldn't worry about it.

The brake fluid level can be a little more difficult to see. Is it topped up in this truck? Be sure to use DOT 4 brake fluid.

Here is how I checked mine - leave it for a couple days if it is dry you are good. If not you have a problem

Whoa. That's a little high tech for me. Does that diagnostic tool plug into the OBD II port, or is it self-powered with batteries?
