In the middle of doing fan clutch, help needed!
So I realized after trail and error that the nut is 32mm and not 36mm. No biggie, I actually found a crescent wrench that was not too bulky that slips right down there. Now for the problem...
I can turn it, hit it with a hammer, etc, but the entire pulley it is attached to turns as well. So, any ideas on how to keep the belt from moving so I can break it free? I put some penetrating oil on it to sit for a bit. I can tell it has been off the car before, likely 1.5 years ago. I just can't find anywhere to stop everything from spinning. Thanks in advance. I jinxed myself saying it was going to be a 10 minute job

Here we go. Push down or pull up on serpantine belt, to tighten. At same time pop wrench with hammer, toward passenger side. Don't pry on pulleys with crow bar, etc. Some have used a strap wrench to fix the fan pulley. It is 10 minutes, after you have done it the first time.

Have sometimes put a vise grip pliers clamp on belt and pulley, and let that rotate to stop against something. Can cut belt. Have struck with hammer as if I was attempting to knock a nail in with one blow. Shop towel under belt can ball up and increase tension.
