Finally got an OEM driver side mirror, I noticed the new mirror has something that looks like where a AAA battery oe smaller would fit in the back, what is that for? I have not taken off the broken mirror yet, so I can't compare.
But how does the mirror replacement work? There was no instructions, and don't want to pull or push something wrong.

that's were the heater elements get power, you will see the two connectors
when you take off the mirror, if you tilt mirror glass all the way in and look in the opening
with a flashlight you can see the tab you have to move carefuly with a long tool to
get the glass off.

Okay, I see that tab I think you're referring to, it's a small white plastic swinging tab, I moved in away from its retainer, but the mirror still locked in place. Does the mirror slide out or pops out? I can't get it to do either and don't want to risk breaking off the other pieces inside.
I may go to a windishield place later this week, but hope I can do it myself.

Okay, thanks Raid13, it popped right out! Then, I used a little bit of white grease with a Q-tip on the outer edges of the inside retainer and made for an easier pop-in and plugged the two connectors for the heated mirror just before re-installing. I paid $28 for the mirror.
