Depends on the wear on the cam lobes. You might read the two stickies at the top of this section regarding valve train issues for more information.

Also wanted to say my mechanic did compression tests and all 8 clys were around 180 psi. Not sure what they should be but that sounded pretty good.

There seems to be a little oil around every sparkplug. Could that be leaking done from the valve cover or is it something else?

The 180 number is good and I wouldn't worry about a little oil around the plugs unless it has gotten in to the plug boot.

No, not that much oil. It's only a little at each plug.
