It looks like I have the blue STI wires now. Any tips for troubleshooting/ getting them not to arc? Could something be off with the routing or how they are plugged in that is causing the arcing?

Make sure the lead is actually up inside the spark plug boot far enough. Some times when removed they'll pull out just enough to make the plug wire seat onto the spark plug, but not cover it far enough so they arc and cause misfires. Best way to see em = crank the engine up in the dark and lift the hood. If you see a little lightening bolt = boot isn't seated well or the boot is not insulated good anymore and it's arcing. STI are usually really really good quality wires.
