Default mounting factory bush bar

Hello, I'm looking at buying a factory bush bar online. Will this thing just bolt up or do I need special plates? It's used so I'm guessing no extras will show up. Thanks for any help.

Its not a technical job, however in some places it requires 3 hands. The front cover has to come off and be trimmed. You will need the frame brackets for the push bar. Good Luck

You do have to remove the front bumper and cut slots in it for the bar mounts to go through. Remove the recovery loop on the left side. There are also two tabs (one per side) that fit between the bumper and the fenders, just in front of the wheel arch, that bolt to the bottom of the wraparound pieces.

This is all assuming you have a D2, and not a D1.

Edit: Judging from the post below, there were brackets that bolt to the frame

You'll have one rectangular plug on the right side, as you're standing in front of and facing, your front bumper. That square plug will pull out. The left side of your bumper, you will need to replicate this rectangular hole. You'll also want to make sure the seller includes the two mounting brackets in this pic.

Make yourself a template of the right side with a piece of paper. Line up the bottom edge of the paper with the ridge on the bumper.

Grab the right side of your template and flip it over to the left side, like you're turning a page, so you're now looking at the back of your template, but have it lined up the same, just on the left side of the bumper. Trace your hole, and now you know where to trim.

Easy as pie! You can very likely accomplish this without removing the bumper cover. BikingTeacher has done this exact project and might chime in with additional tips if he sees this thread.....

Best of luck! Take lots of pics!

Default bush bar

Thanks for all the usefull help. I should have mentioned that I've already taken the bumper cover off, so that won't be an issue. It does look like I need these mounting brackets, you supplied in the photo. I'll make sure those are included.
