I have a Voyager full roof rack. You could fit two kayaks easily and nicely side by side laying flat on top. Or - what I do - is stack them side by side upright and fit three across quite easily. I took the standard kayak "J" mounts and put them on the roof rack inside the basket part on a cross member about half way down the truck. I have two or sometimes three across. If you want a picture just let me know.

Throwing this out there just as another idea. You can get a hitch mount ladder or kayak rack that are adjustable in height so you can use your standard cross bars with the trailer hitch support on the back.
Amazon Link Amazon Link

The other option I can think of is several people have purchase some van gutter mounts from ebay (under $100) and they will work on our disco with slight modification of the mount. Believe all that is needed is a vice so you can slightly bend them to the correct angle. Then you can drill a new hole higher up so you can move the cross bar high enough to clear our roof line. ebay link

I went with the van gutter mounts off Amazon. Found them powdercoated black and just had to drill some holes higher up to miss the cross bars. Works surprisingly well for $86.

Hi,

This D1 seems really nice! Can you please be so kind to tell what's the lift and tire size?

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide!

Regards, AF
