Just sold my 97 DI and picked up an 04 DII. woohoo!

80,000 and some change in miles.
It was a one owner that had all maintenance done at the right time at the Redondo Beach, CA dealership.

Heads were replaced by the dealership at 65,000

Now i just gotta worry about getting the front drive shaft replaced.

I might drive her to north carolina from ca towing a small uhaul trailer, but i'm still debating that ( i had a post on the DI fourm about driving my 97 out and got a lot of good feedback. but now im in the 04)

any DII owners got suggestions or comments of anything else i should look for in prep to drive and tow the 3000 miles?

and if there is a good place in LA to get that drive shaft replaced?

 

Dont replace the front driveshaft, rebuild it BEFORE your trip.
Any driveline shop can do this, make sure they replace the centering ball and use greaseable u-joints and that YOU grease it at EVERY oil change.

and of course all the fluids.
