Default Moving my 03 LR Disco with no battery?

The car has been in the driveway by my garage for a few months as we are busy with life and all it brings but on Monday I have a guy coming to cut down a big tree next to the Disco and I need to get his tree crew to help me roll out the LR to the curb and back later.

Can someone tell me how to trick the automatic gear shift to put it in neutral as the battery is removed and the car has no power? Is there a release or something to move it into Neutral so the tree crew guys can help me push it back out of the way for them to work?

If you remove the plastic bezel on the center console that holds the shift lever, it will expose the solenoid. You have to pull up on the top of shift **** with the button pressed in. It will pop off. Then remove the bezel by pulling it over the lever and put it to the side. Then put the top of the lever back on. The solenoid engages a little plastic piece on the bottom left part of the (now exposed) lever. If you press in the little plastic cylinder, you can then move the transmission between park, reverse, drive, etc. You have to hold the cylinder in while moving between gears. Hope that helps!

As much as I agree with Captain Aaron it does appear a lot of work to move the truck. Why not put a car battery on or jump leads put the gear shifter in neutral and push or tow it out of the way.

Crawl underneath and switch the shift lever at the trans.
