I drive about around 70% to 80% city driving and my average for the 5 or 6 months I have had mine is around 13.5mpg. Within a week or two of buying mine I did the full service as well. I have taken it on some highway only trips but didn't really pay attention to the average mileage it got then. All I can say is glad I only drive it enough to fill up on average just over once a month

Edit -- to add mine is a 2001 SE7 with 126k miles on it as a reference

Have a 2" lifted 2003 SE with BFG A/T's 265/65 R18 and 120K miles and get 13.2 around town and 19 on the high way. Off Roading I get 3-5 mpg so you are in the ball park.

It's a brick, not a BMW. 12-17 ballpark. Downhill somewhat better.

I have a 2004 HSE. 70k miles. TJM bumper and 9k winch. 265/55r18 Average is 13.5 Total average no idea highway vs street. Don't know how accurate it is. I'm just going off the ultraguage. I guess i'll have to calculate it later.

Seriously you guys are getting 18 and 19?! I never got more than maybe 15 on the highway in my 03.

I have high hopes for the D3 though. Two extra gears.

I'm with jafir. Both of mine max out at about 16 highway. What are the secrets for this 18-19 mpg average? I change my oil always under 3,000mi, keep perfect tire pressure, and try to drive them like the turtles they are on 91 octane what am I missing?
