I surprised at those high numbers for some. I average 13-14 with pretty evenly mixed street/freeway driving.

I have learned that if you go by your average mpg of your rover, depression soon sets in. I prefer to average BOTH my cars.... 32.5 (the other is a 2013 jetta tdi) see... All better.

I was averaging between 9- 10 mpg On my Ultra Gauge with 265-75-16 and 2" lift on my 03'. My average has gone up to low 12's since adding the NGK's but still have a vaccuum leak at both connections to the Y. Should go up a little higher but no where near 18-19 mpg as some of you have stated. I am guessing 14 mpg or so...

I fill mine up when it gets to just above 1/3 tank. I drive it with out care or thought until it is back down to that level and then fill it up again. Gas milage is just a number with little to no relevance. You are not going to change it drastically and I would rather worry or think about other things that I can effect on my LR. Although I do pay attention the the gallons per hour rating when off roading.

I have high hopes for the D3 though. Two extra gears.
So when was the last tune up with 8 mm silicone wires, last induction cleaning, what octane are you using and how much air are you running in your tires?

Well the d2's are gone now, as of two weeks ago I sold the last one to find the LR3.

But I replaced plugs and wires in 2010 when I bought it, using the way over-priced OEM champion plugs. I ran the highest octane available at my elevation, 91. And I usually ran the tires at 38 if memory serves me.

I have new wires in last year and induction cleaning. Stock rims but I am not too up on my tire pressure to be honest, guess I need to check that better. Always run premium.

My ultra gauge says 11.9!

But during school year I'm 99% around town, kids, etc. gets up to 13 or so during summer when I go to VT often.

I honestly don't sweat it too much, knew it wasn't a Prius when I bought it, put on 6K miles all last year, and I still love it. Plus I avoided the minivan
