Default MPG Performance Chip or the like? 01'

I am looking into finding a chip not for speed or some boost in power to become so "dragster" as everyone apparently loves to point out... I'm looking into more of increasing my mpg by 3-4 consistently. My dad put in a chip for his 05 F-250 Diesel it would either give power or economy or whatever he chose. I'm looking for something of the sorts. Love the Rover don't want to get rid.

Chips for naturally aspirated engines are more gimmick than anything. Most chips change boost mappings for some sort of forced induction and vary timings and the like due to the increased air which is why you can get so much out of them if you have a turbo/sc. If you want 3-4 more MPG...drive 65 (or the speed limit whichever is lesser), dont drive like a drag racer, engine brake when you can, use good highway tires if you commute a lot since big aggressive tires suck gas, keep up with maintenance/fluids, and keep your tires at proper pressure.

If you had a TD5 I'd say hit up TWISTED performance, but you're not getting any more power or mileage out of that joke Rover V8 you've got in the DII. Your dad was able to get the benefits of altering the turbo's boost levels, a feat impossible on a naturally aspirated vehicle.

For under $100 you can get an Ultra Gauge, and watch important things like exact coolant temp, plus it will compute mpg, so you can find the most economical driving practice for your Disco. If there was a cheap chip that worked, we would all have one.

The real problem with the heavy Rover is finding a chip big enough to do the job....

Doesn't exist. Spend your money on something like an Ultra Gauge.

Thank guys good help and tips. I have taken the rack uptop off and that has somewhat not really worked since I live around DC at this time it worked out better(due to needing to fit in a garage) but I'm planning on moving to a more rural area would it be compromising to put on the rack? Also I have some pretty big tires on there for now not due to myself but rather the previous owner. And I saw one of you mention about Engine Breaking I have the Gas version how specifically can I do this? And would it break down my engine?

Stay away form them, enough Rover people have tried them getting lower NPG and achieving a modest gain in power.
