Hi All,

Any thoughts on what could be causing my front muffler to make a hissing or sizzling sound. It has just begun to occur. Sometimes i drive five or so miles to the store, and i notice the sound when i exitmthe vehicle coming from the back end of the front muffler, but it doesnt happen all the time. It goes for about 3 minutes and slowly dissipates. I drove 40 miles the other day over a mountain pass, but everything sounded normal...no hiss/sizzle

Could it be condensation from the ac ? not much humidity up at high altitude.

 

I vote ac also
Short drive just hot enough to sizzle
Long drive very hot = vaporize and push moisture off, not as much sizzle

 

A/C
or antifreeze.
Oil will SMOKE.
gasoline? Doubt it.
