Default murdered

So, I am in Honduras (U.S. Army) and my wife back home in the States complains that the Disco is not starting, just trying to start. So after me saying "no" too many times to her pleads to have a tow truck take it to the local mechanic...its there.
For three weeks now.
It starts immediately for them every day, twice a day for four days. On the fifth day my wife goes down there with the neighbor wife to pick it up and "TA-DA" no start.
So, they keep it at the shop and continue to try to figure it out.
Today she goes by the shop and says that she will just drive it home and let me check it out when I get back in a few weeks. (Three months overseas, few weeks home, then three more months again, etc.)
They now tell her that they cant get it to shift back into Park, that they don't know what happened, but it might be the computer.
FU!
HAHAHA.
Seriously?
FU!
I am sure they are nice-good guys, but that is not how a mechanic shop is supposed to work...I am sure on this one fact.
She tells them to call when its fixed, or they can buy it for five. (good deal to a guy who knows how to work on trucks)
When my wife had it towed, I was pretty sure it was a fuel pump going bad.
So far, they say no charges, but they would like her to have it towed to a different mechanic because they don't know what to do.
Being not only beautiful, but smart. The wife says, "no, you can put it back together and then I will drive it home".

There is an inertia crash switch on the firewall that kills the fuel pump, push to to reset.

There is a sensor called crank shaft position (CKP) sensor. It makes pulses that signal the computer to fire plugs and squirt fuel. If not working, there will be no spark at start up. Does not throw code if fails at cranking. About $70 part. See attached from shop manual.

There is a shift solenoid that enables the shifter. All in the factory manual called the RAVE. Full download or just look at section you want on links in my signature. Sorry about the mechanics, they should have an Alldata subscription of such and not have to do so much head scratching.

Lots of Blackhawks and everything else at Hunter near me, part of Ft Stewart, home of mosquitos that can flip a Bradley....

Thank you Savannah Buzz!
(I will bring you some home brew when I come home)
I own a home in Pooler, just off of exit 106 from 95.
As soon as I get home I will replace/reset all suggestions.

The switch itself is uber easy to instal and only took me about 30-45 minutes. However connecting the wires to that 2" pigtail off the underside of the engine took 6 hours and at least 3 trips to the store to find hemostats. Mine was shutting the truck off while stopped at intersections.

Some owners report having to plug the connectors together and let the sensor dangle while fitting it. Great place for SWMBO to put those small dainty hands to good use....
