For those of you who don't know I have been rebuilding an '04 and have replaced almost every part (except the Engine) over the last few months. Once I was able to get it running I quickly had the three Amigos. I cured that by doing Option B and replacing the Shuttle valve.
I was pretty happy because I was able to have NO falts. Well, that was short-lived. On Juist the test drive (me grinning) the right front ABS sensor wire caught the axle and spun around it, breaking it. Guess I needed to secure it away from the axle.
I wanted to get back to NO falts so I replaced the ABS sensor wire and checked the Omh. Seemed good but I still have the Right Front ABS sensor Electrical Fault. I actually bought a new hub and installed it. ($250) That didn't fix it either.
I also thought that it might be the connector on top of the wheel well. I check it and it was so brittle it fell apart in my hand. I ended up replacing it with some wire connectors. Didn't Help....
Then I tried to trace it back to the BMS under the passenger side and removed all the plugs and re-attached them. Still no luck.
Not as much data as I would like, but at least we know which wheel it is. Because you have tried a lot, I would consider ohming out the wiring back to the computer as a start. The other good diagnostic tool is to swap the sensor left to right with known good one. You can also re-arrange the pins in the connector in the ECU and see if it follows the wires or stays with the position in the ECU.

I ohmed it back to the ABS module and the wires are not broken. I found a module on ebay for $50. I will swap it out and see where that goes. I'm thinking when the wire broke it send something to the module and fried it?
What Extinct said was a good idea to see if it moves when you repin.
But also, I thought replacement speed sensors are supposed to now get wired in direct to the SLABS? A-B Bro explains it here --> https://www.roverparts.com/resources...t-discovery-2/ (in other words that connector you bypassed ...shouldnt even be part of the equation with a new sensor which goes direct to SLABS box). Admittedly it's been 5 years since I've changed a speed sensor so ... maybe it's changed.
I have fried modules in other cars (notably M-B) from similar conditions -- ie wiring harness getting caught in rotating pulleys. I'd give it a "maybe" for this being the case. But... swapping SLABS is an easy check. So you have a 2004, note that you may have gotten the wrong SLABS on Ebay for only $50. Those 2004 SLABS (which work with CDL) are usually very rare and expensive when they come up used. Did you buy the exact same pn on your truck which I think should be SRD500070. That said, this won't affect ABS test you're doing, and you can test what you're trying to fix with probably any SLABS from a D2. The 04's are really just different to support CDL and apparently a bit different programming on rough road faults etc. Or something like that.
The good news is the underside of that Disco is gorgeous so it's going to be worth all the effort. Props for having a nice one.
Dumb question but are you sure you have the speed sensor properly seated in the hub?
I have had several trucks where the connectors were abandoned and they did wire back directly to the slabs ecu. I think the factory was advising dealers to use this method to eliminate callbacks. I have two trucks over 216k with connectors intact and no ABS faults and a third with 267 that has a right front fault I need to sort (could be a hub), but the other three are fine.
What's up with the right fronts ? It seems to be the only one people have issues with ! I have a right front fault that I have been chasing for a long while now, its only comes up intermittently now after replacing the whole assembly and sensor.

OMG !! I'm Absolutely going crazy. I tested the new slabs and am still not getting any wheel speed from the right front. @nashvegas that part is not the same but I just wanted to see if it would read the wheel speed.
I KNOW the wires are good from the sensor all the way to the slabs. Do you think me doing "Option B' has anything to do with it?
NOW WHAT?
