Gotta say, love BajaRack but the fit is marginal. The pieces that rest in the gutter are so think they’ve cracked the plastic gutter trim. Anyone else experience this?
I don't own one of these racks, but I see that one foot has a rubber piece wrapping under it intended to fill the drip rail and provide some elastic give when clamping down the clamp; two other photos show that this rubber isolator is missing, and the clamps appear to be cranked down tighter as a result. Have you compared the fit of the feet into the gutter rail with rubber to those without? It seems to me that having some feet without rubber would torque the frame downward relative to those feet with rubber.
I have the same issue with my Bajarack. My trim is cracked to pieces, worse than yours.
The direction sheet that came with the rack had torque specs on it for the two bolts. Although I don’t remember them specifically, I remember the downwards facing bolt being surprisingly light. I think the real holding pressure is supposed to come from the lateral bolt. However with less torque on the downwards bolt and having the lateral bolt as tight as it can go, I found that my rack would actually slide in the roof rails every so slightly. Enough to notice a difference and make the door hit the rack mount.
Not that this info is really all that helpful, but it seems like it’s not really avoidable, unless you want your rack sliding back and forth.

In my opinion, it’s such a design oversight. The OEM rack still, again IMO, has the best mounting system. Doesn’t crush the plastic and allows for water to drain freely. I really regret just not holding out until an OEM rack showed up locally.
