Yeah, lived in N. Walpole, NH, Westminster, Vt, and Brattleboro.
Actually my dad was a foster kid in Kansas and his biological father later had 6 more sons (settling in St. Louis), so I probably have a lot of unknown relatives. LOL

Reports about universal joint failure pushed me to grease mine (could not remember when it was last done) but I think 22k ago at the 90k service.

Service manual says the front propeller shaft has a plug fitting at the yoke which must be temporarily removed and a grease fitting installed to grease the yoke. Unfortunately I don't have a grease fitting so that will have to wait. I did grease the front propeller shaft U joint. The aft propeller shaft and U joint have grease fittings which I greased.

The manual says (common sense) to clean the grease fittings of dirt before servicing with grease.

I have to travel and won't be to replace both fore and aft U Joints for three months.

U joint failure is scary stuff.

No kidding, you must know where I live then. I live in Jaffrey right on the other side of Keene.

and by the way thank you and everyone else for all the input, just got u-joints and center ball today, ready to do the job this weekend. I guess it's supposed to snow so I'll get that done and go tear it up. I've got the Rover off the road for now. It's kind of a second rig so not totally necessary to drive it and definitely not worth taking the chance of breaking that thing.

DRIVESHAFT REBUILT!!! Wasn't bad YET, but not worth waiting for it to fail.
