Default My first thread here! Two questions...

Great forum, I just got a Disco II and have big plans for taking it to Mammoth/Tahoe in winter and Dessert the rest of the year. Here anre my two questions:
1. Driver front wheel, looks like there is a missing steering rod or something. The passenger side has a rod connected to this piece. I have no idea, maybe it is supposed to be left open.

2. New Cooper Zeon Ltz 285/60/18's are rubbing on the frame, more so on the passenger side. Will an 1-2 inch lift and/or small wheel spacers eliminate this?

Thanks is advance!

These things are sold in every country in the world in both left and right hand drive.
They all use the same steering parts.
Take all of your steering components off and turn them upside down, move the steering wheels and pedals to the passenger side and now you have a right hand drive Disco.
So yes, that spot is supposed to be left open.

Thats not the frame, the frame is the big black square thing that runs the full length of the truck.

If you plan on hitting Moab you will need to dump those 18" rims and get a set of 16" rims with a good set of all terrain tires.

Thanks Spike555!
It really surprised the tire installers and I when we first pulled the wheel off!
The guy at the tire shop was really cool and guaranteed fit, so I can totally exchange them for a 16 inch tires, if and when I get 16 inch wheels.

Will a spacer and/or lift help the rubbing at all?

It's a D2 = no swivel ball, C/V and a boot.

surfdc, remember these trucks where designed as RHD (right hand drive) so that's why no steering components connect there.

I would avoid spacers if you plan to take it off road. Try setting your wheel stops to stop the rubbing. good luck and welcome to the forum.

Ok. Cool. I will try adjusting the wheel stops, shouldn't take much...this thing turns much tighter than my Titan did!
