Default My OBD Codes

I just plugged in the OBD scanner and came up with six codes:

1. P1415 -- "Secondary air system fault bank 2Drive cycle D:Signal implausible"

2. P0430 -- "Catalyst System Below Threshold (Bank 2)"

3. P0420 -- same as above except (Bank 1)

4. P0154 -- "O2 Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2, Sensor 1)"

5. P0134 -- Same as above except (Bank 1, Sensor 1)

6. P1413 -- "Secondary air system fault bank 1Drive cycle D:Signal out of range - above maximum

While I wait for the RAVE file to download, I would like to know if you have any experience with the above codes and their resolutions.

Thanks!

Workshop manual for D2, Emission Control section, page 17-2-45 shows a chart for diagnstics of each of the codes like 1415 which is :

P1415 Secondary Air Injection System – Malfunction Bank 2 RH (Insufficient SAI flow during passive test)

What Rover says their codes mean in the RAVE shop manual can be different from the stored generics of code readers. So always check the RAVE with the code number.

Thank you! I just downloaded the RAVE file, but I had to locate the owner's manual and shop manual by manually opening each folder and searching.

6 codes, so I have a lot of research to do!

No you don't, when was the last time you did a tune up along with wires, have the 02's been replaced and what octane gas are you burning?
You will need to replace both cats and at least the 2 front 02s for starters, then clear the codes and reread the codes when they come back to see if the SAI codes are still showing?
By the way, has that engine had head gaskets replace and or are you using coolant?

Mike, I just picked up the car a couple of days ago and I'm not sure of when any services were done other than a rather immaculate engine detail. There were no signs of any leaks around the heads or oil leaking. The seller did said he had the car for two years in their inventory using it whenever his friends/family were up there for boat outings. He said vehicle was tuned and smogged in October 2011.

The CarFax report showed that between 2009 and now (when they picked up the vehicle) they had logged 10k miles.

Also, I'm just checking out the coolant level to see if it is being consumed quickly. I am planning to have it drained, refilled, and bled to see if the slosh noise goes. I will also look to get the chemical and/or pressure test done as advised in my previous post.

I'm not sure how much the cat replacements will cost but one of the reasons we opted to this vehicle was to retire our old minivan that needed a cat replacement ($1700 replacement cost).

Your being new to Rovers will make it hard for you to find the issues. If you want some help. PM me your number and I'll call you this weekend.

Find a used one that still is good. It will be somewhat hard to do, post an add in the parts wanted section.

Why should he pay for a MAF with no codes showing, kind of bad advice.
