Hi.. just for let you know how do I fix my 3 Amigos....

some history..... first I bought the ABS Amigo... and when I have the codes... it tells that front right sensor is bad.. don't remember the code... I checked with a multimeter .. and was open,,,so I plan to by another... when I was taking apart I encounter the wheel hub really bad.. so time to buy a new one with sensor included.....

ok.. new wheel hub,, new sensor.. and the problem persist....ABS Amigo gives the same fault... front right sensor bad.....but it is new!?!?!?!?

ok.. this is what i did....

disconnect the sensor at the plug that is under the hood...
inside you can see two female connectors....
make a little bend with a small screwdriver...(see the picture)
connect again....
reset codes....
Say good bye to 3 AMIGOS....

 

Was it a weak signal code?

 

no... the first sensor it was bad...open... the second one has a bad contact on the connectors.. that is why the signal doesn't get correctly to the abs ecu..... and gives the same fault... front right sensor bad.... after I bend a little the female connectors .. .the contact was correct and no more faults...

Juke, I've had it on my list to start a thread about this but I haven't gotten around to pulling apart the connector to take the pic. I'm glad you resurrected this thread.

I was getting an intermittent signal fault for the left front sensor and was prepping to replace it with some simple butt connectors like Best4x4 recommends, but the space to work was cramped so I decided to first try deforming the female cavities shown in the pic. I used needle-nose pliers instead of a screwdriver like the OP wrote, but the principle is the same. So far (4 months) all is well. The Three Amigos have come back on a couple times intermittently since then but I'm happy with the results.
