My Ticking Disco Problem - SOLVED
Yes, I have the answer. If your truck is quiet at cold and has the loud tick(s) as it gets warm, it is one or more of your liners.
There you go. Nice simple answer.
I got mine from v8 developments in the UK. All was ok, but I had to wait... Next time, I'd buy from turner engineering in the UK.
Someone on here used D&D in Michigan - price was competitive with Turners IIRC, but he had to pull his engine again becuase they didn't install the liners properly or something... They fixed it, but that would put me off for sure.
Exchange rate is 1.58 right now - which means $2400 will have a block delivered to your doorstep with the top-hat liners installed and including the core charge.
Budget another $1000 on crank polish, head /valve facing, gaskets, shells, rings, ARP's, followers, cam, etc...
It is worth it....

any good machine shop can get you a flanged liner, Top Hat is just a brand. The size of the flange is what makes it different from the factory liner. There is a west cost company selling Top Hat liners as well the want like $90 ea.
