Default my truck has a knock...... in the windshield

I had a crack in my old windshield. It bugged me, so I finally got a new one. saflite or safelight or whatever, came by and replaced it. now i notice a "knocking on glass" sound while driving. it is intermittent and annoying. I feel like it is coming from the vin plate area, but can find nothing. I've stuffed insulation in areas to try to pin point. my efforts are to no avail.if anyone has a suggestion on how to find and fix this, I would very much appreciate it.

So, call whatever and have them make it right.

well that crossed my mind but I truly thought I may have dropped something up there or something stupid. I also think I will have to be home when they come out, to take a drive. The convenience of paying online, leave my truck unlocked, come home and its done, was why I used them in the first place. If I finally decide that I can not fix it, I will have to go that route. I almost preferred looking at the stupid crack, as opposed to listening to the new one.

Mine did that and drove me nuts, it ended up being the edge of the windshield wiper tapping on the window.

get some masking tape and tape the wiper blades down to the windshield then, take a drive; see if goes away.

It's also possible they lost or broke some of the stuff that makes the a-pillar trim or the air intake cowl stay put. Putting the a-pillar trim back on is kind of like one of those brain teaser puzzles where you have remove a ring from inside two horseshoes connected by chain. Not too hard when you've done it before, but almost impossible if you haven't.

woo hoo, problem solved. thanks for the suggestions. as I was taping the blades down, i ran my hand along a sharp piece of metal. It was stuck between the trim strip and windshield. it looked like a broken razor blade tip was wedged in there, holding it out just enough for wind to make the knock sound. removed it and sound is gone, quite enough to sleep at the wheel again. thanks
