Default my window wipers will not work

I tried to use my window wipers after a snow storm. I guess there was too much snow and they would not move. I ended up leaving them on......even know they were not moving. About 5 min. later I smelt a burning smell. Now my wipers will not work at all. Does anyone know what I should do and what went wrong? Is this something I can do myself?

Yes you can do it yourself.
The wiper motor is just under the windshield.
You will have to take the wiper linkage off. The motor
is behind a mounting plate 3 bolts hold the plate in place.
this is for Disco II. It will help to post the year somethings
are much different from the Disco I to Disco II.
I just took a guess that you have a D-II.
My Alldata showed that a motor will run around $230.
