Default Nasty Overheat

Well...it finally happened, I didn’t stay on top of checking my coolant level and had a nasty overheat today (260 F). I filled it up with water from the building I overheated by and everything returned to normal for the 30 minute drive home. It doesn’t sound any different (it didn’t sound terribly great before, mind you) or seems to be any different on power. It’s probably time to accelerate my spare block rebuild operation.

You need an ultragauge or other OBD temperature monitoring gauge.

I’ve got one, that’s the kicker. It’s a scangauge (which I bought before I knew about ultragauge) but I was distracted and it doesn’t have an alarm setting. I might bite the bullet and get an ultra gauge and put the scan gauge in my Subaru.
