Default Water Sound on the dashboard....

I have a '97 Disco....there is a sound similar like pouring water....I hear the sound at the dashboard on the passenger side or in the middle part of the dashboard....what do you thing this is?....will this be an indication of a larger problem?.....

The sound happens randomly but is frequent....the water temperature gage of the truck does not go over 1/4....

Please help!!!!

I have an 03 DII and I get that same noise! Its like a glurking sound or a bottle with water slushing around. I have no idea what it is... maybe low on some sort of fluid?

My 95 Disco does it too, I just got mine out of the shop for a diagnostic and they told me it was a bubble in the coolant system. I've asked the question before, and it seems that it can be an indicator of a larger problem though too.

My 01 Disco 2 does it, but only every once in a while. Mostly when its cold. That said, have never had any problems with it. I had kinda always figured its something in the heater core....

How many miles? Thermostat might be stuck open to read so low, but the sound is air trapped in your coolant system. With the endine coll, and parked on an incline, open the little plastic screw on the radiator. If you have coolant all the way to the top, you should be ok. Do a search for radiator bleeding on here and see the full process...

So, you all have coolant leaks and should fill you coolant system, bleed as much air thru the bleed screw then go have your coolant system pressure tested to find and then correct your leak.

Sun Roof drain? Last time I was up skiing it snowed over a foot. All the snow on the roof started melting on the drive down the pass and it sounded like a waterfall in the cab of my '04 Disco. It turned out to be the sun roof drains doing their thing.

I checked for wet carpets when I got home as I've had history with clogged drains and it was dry as a bone.

Just a thought on your water sounds.

Cheers,

Curt
