need advice on aligning crank sensor
alright i got it removed. my problem is getting it installed. the bottom stud goes in fine the top doesnt have enough space for the nut to start. i tighten the bottom all the way to see if that would help. my question is can i shorten the spacer for the top? so that the treads will take. or am i doing it wrong? i also tried to start the top stud first i just cant get it the treads to start.
another question do i need to put the connector part back in the bracket? or just let the wires hang?

Something isn't right. Take it off and make sure the spacer on the new one is the same as what came off with the old one.
Do you have the sleeve spacer that goes on the stud on the inside or outside of the sensor, should be outside.
It can be a pain, but get the harness back in its bracket, not a connector that you want bouncing around and possibly chafing the wires.

re: just helps to step awayfrom it for a few
much better than one member who worked at it so long he tossed all those parts... and then when the winds of calm returned had to buy all of it over again.

Timely.
I was coming home from Mother's Day at Mums, and my Ultraguage stopped working. While driving, I unplugged and reinserted. Parked the truck. This morning, the battery was strong, tank was full with high test gasoline, and it would not start. I removed a sparkplug and set it against the manifold with my wife turning the key, and again, no action nor spark. So, I have just ordered one of these things. Now I am on the hunt for a pigmy to hire to install the darn thing.....

15 minutes to remove and re-install the CPS, but 3 hours and counting to disconnect the plug. From above and below, pliers, screwdrivers and cursing, I have not achieved any success. Any advice? thanks,
