I have a 02 disco II SE 7 with 127000 miles. i wrecked front awhile ago and has created several leaks, including slight oil leak and having to refill radiator reservoir with water at least once a week. recently, the transmission started slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear. also, when idol there is a strong exhaust odor as well as the entire vehicle shaking. had it looked at and mechanic said the rear main seal was broken and the diagnostic shows transmission slipping. he did not do any work and suggested i get rid of it... he said it would cost at least $300 to take the motor out to fix rear main seal and noted that it was not worth it with transmission issues. please advise with any thoughts or ideas.
