Default Need battery help...

My Optima Red Top has basically died, lasted a total of 3 years and 3 months, with my last Red Top lasing around 7 years, I am a little disappointed. I called the Pep Boy I purchased it from, they claim warranty has passed and can only offer me a new battery for $200 plus. I have called Optima, they say work it out with Pep Boys. My rover doesn't have a winch or any crazy audio or lights, I want another AGM. I have found an AutoCraft Platinum AGM, Group Size H8, 900CCA which I found while searching local to me and on a forum search here as well as Duralast Platinum Battery AGM 65 750CCA. Can anyone offer recommendations or provide an honest review of either? Thanks in advance.

It is so sad to see Optima go downhill like this, I had a similar event with one of these with Costso. I have been using the Walmart sealed (not AGM) batteries with success. When mine dies I will give their AGM a try. My husband used Interstate AGM's in his Powerstroke, with dissappointment. Basically, I take the price divided by the months of warranty to get the amount per month. The lowest price per month wins.

I never thought of it that way... and it makes a lot of sense. I saw Walmart has a new AGM battery, its pretty light for a battery though, my Optima weighs 30-40 lbs and I believe the Walmart one is 20-25 lbs, however with a 5 year warranty.

I always buy whatever is on sale at crappy tire here in Canada and they last 4-8 years even with the harsh winters we get

I've used and sorely abused an autocraft agm (group 65) for a little over 4 years now. It replaced a yellow top optima that only lasted a year. I'd fully recommend the autocraft agm battery.

Either advance autos AGM or auto zones AGM. Have been good to me. Group 65 too.

Don't forget to look around for coupons.

Thank you. Seems that the Optima Batteries are not what they used to be.

Any fitment issues with a AGM 65? I am assuming that's the biggest I can go in the stock location?
