Default Need an extra key

Where is a good place ( besides dealer ) to get an extra key made? I think I have an original key ( it says Land Rover on front and Valeo on back), and I need another one.

Will a Walmart or the local hardware store made keys work on my 2004 Discovery SE??

I use ace hardware/ westlake hardware the have the correct keys! One the you will need to make sure is that the key is the same length, will not matter so much in the door but it will bottom out in the ignition cylinder.

Around here the hardware stores have mostly disappeared and Walmart and the other big box places don't do well with automotive keys. Look up in the Phone book (paper or online) and contact a local lock company. They make automotive keys regularly. They are a little more expensive than a hardware store but you don't have to watch a "trainee" try to figure out the key machine then get out to your truck and find out it doesn't work.

True Value
Ace hardware
ILCO-RV4 is the part you need.
No the big box stores do not carry this brand of key, they all carry Curtis keys.
A farm tractor supply store will have the Ilco keys as well.
Get two made, you are looking at $10 for 2.

I was in the local locksmith store a few weeks ago getting a spare made. While I was waiting I heard him on the phone with a woman who had lost her key on a fairly new Toyota (with transponder/chip/whatever) and who was now stranded in some parking lot. He was quoting her $350.00 for a callout to get her going again.

I suddenly decided that I wanted 4 keys made instead of 2; it seemed like really cheap insurance to have some extras.

Default thanks

Many thanks to all for the very helpful comments. Now anyone have any thoughts on leaks?

When it rains, the driver's floor sure gets wet. I've lifted up the carpet and just keep it propped up to help air it out.

I haven't figured out where the water gets it yet. But I don't think its a sun roof.
