Default Need Help on 99 Disco II

Just installed a rebuilt motor as the old one was mixing coolant and oil.
Simple install but now it won't start.
I have replaced the crank sensor, plugs and wires.
I have pressure at the fuel rail.
I do not have spark.
I have tried locking and unlocking the drivers door 3 times as per another thread.
Battery is fully charged with a charger on it while trying to start.
Fuses are good and relays seem to be functioning properly
What am I missing besides the cam sensor?

Well, all of the usual questions seem to have been answered already. All I can think of are basic tests: Make sure all wiring connectors are fully seated; unplug and reconnect the crank sensor, and ignition coil. The fuel rail has pressure; if you relieve the pressure through the valve, does it return? Are the injectors getting power?

Have you tested for a signal from the crank sensor?

First, go down load a copy of a free Rave CD and read that section. You can use an OHM meter or a good scanner if you know how to use either of them.

Yep tried that.

Think I have it figured out now.
Wrong mount for the crank sensor so I have to remove the motor again and change them out.

The mount on the block is different from old to new. The new one is just a flat area for the sensor to sit on with no provisions for the cover to attach and the old one has a raised area and provisions for the cover.
They are both tig'd into the block so it looks like a removal is necessary to make it the swap.
I'll try to take some photos and post to show you what I mean.
I am guessing that the block I have is for a DI not DII but I was told by the builder that they blocks are all the same just some things like this are different.
Maybe if I could use a crank sensor from a DI on this engine it might solve my problems other than I would need to make a pig tail from the DI sensor to the harness cause the current one from the vehicle will not reach.
