need help !!! got a question???
Sorry to bother you guys but i need your help.
My wife got into a accident with our rover discovery II 2001 and long story short some bumper and grill damage after the impact.I noticed a noise squeaking took it to a local mechanic and he explained that serpinebelt got loose because the water pumps pulley is not functioning correctly or damaged,I don't remember his exact words. Basically water pump and belt must be replaced.
my question is if i'm going to replace water pump, belt,& probably hoses should i consider replacing the timing belt or chain?????? please your expertise would be a great help....
thank you: Mike V

There is no timing belt on a gas engined LR. The timing chain will last the life of the engine.
This would be a good time to also replace your belt tensioner.

Make sure that they also flush the cooling system and that they use the same kind of coolant that is already in there. If its green stay green, if its pink stay pink.
