Will replace the cap and rotor and report back...

Is there a way to test the distributor?

Thanks

be careful when removing the rotor, I can't remember what it does, but something springs out if you force it...

replaced the Cap and Rotor this morning and it didn't make a difference.

If the distributor was bad, timing should be off correct?

So I have fuel pressure, timing is correct. new cap and rotor now... Is this cam or valve issue?

Anything else I should try prior to towing it to a Rover Shop?

Take the truck down to JC's and have Jeff and his crew check it out. They'll get it figured out a lot quicker and probably cheaper than random guessing will. I had JC's do a lot of work on my Rover and I highly recommend them.

Well I took the truck down to JC's and one of the exhaust lobes on the cam was pretty much gone. They are going to replace the cam, timing chain/gears, lifters and I am also having them replace the Head Gaskets while they have it torn apart. $3600 later, hopefully my truck will be back to normal. ugh

dang.. ask them about putting a 4.6 cam in there while they have it apart. It will increase ari flow and give a little more torque.

They said that they were going to put a performance cam in, I will find out exactly what that means.
