Default need insight on rover problem

i just aquired a 96 discovery sd, it is in great shape except for the fact it does not rev past 3000 rpm. it just seams to misfire then. i pulled the faults and they are as follows P0125- closed loop fuel control insuffivent coolant temp (i believe that it is the thermostat the gauage barly gets to half way point) then i have P0113 camshaft position sensor bank 1 malfunction, i have no idea how to go about this fault. what do they use to check timing? if there is one cam how is it bank one? and the rest of the faults a misfires. i know about cars i am a volkswagen tech and this is nothing like what i am used to. if you could help me out that would be awsome lookin forward to us it as a winter car and a tow vehicle. thanks

Well it sounds like your engine temp is ok. On mine the needle sits right in the middle of the little wavy lines and stays there, once its fully warmed up. I am not completely sure, but there must be another sensor that the ECU uses to determine engine temperature. Have you searched the forum, because I vageuly remember reading a thread where someone else was having trouble reving past 2700 or so. I will try and find it, and repost the thread.

Your running temp is good just replace the coolant temp sensor
its on the intake left frt next to the sensor for thetemp gauge.
Order it from Atlantic British

I agree, go order and replace the sensor, that will get you into closed loop which should help alot. As for the crank sensor, it is located at the back of the drivers side head, sound like it is failing, should be pretty easy to get to.
