It was a direct swap in my case. SAI and everything bolted right up. 04 4.6 blocks as indicated above were the most prone to manufacturing issues being the last of the run.

Ahh that makes sense now. Looking for red dot blocks, P38 4.6L w/ secondary air (in case california goes ape **** on me).

Thanks

The secondary air hooks up to the heads, so if you get a short block that won't matter. You can get 4.6 heads with or without the SAI.

I am looking to swap in a used or refurbished engine. Thoughts on putting in a 4.6L from an 04'? I have a 2000 Disco II with SAI.

Do you guys know where I can buy a reliable engine, besides atlantic british? I am checking ebay and they are just torn from wrecked rovers, I am trying to find something at least tested/certified. Any ideas/suggestions would be much appreciated!
I am guessing Turner is too expensive to ship?

I just sent them an email to find out. I would love to find a shop in the US that reconditions these engines for a decent price. I don't know if I can really justify spending more than 4K on the engine alone.

I know a shop in Washington state but, that is probably not helpful.

If they ship, it's definitely do-able. What's the name?

Thanks,
