Need paint in larger quantity than just a paint stick...
Found a nice bit of rust all along the door seal area today. Ground back to good metal, treated, primered... but now debating whether to paint with just black rustoleum since it's out of sight, or do it right and order a pint or quart of Giverny Green. So far the places I've found online (searched for only a minute or two) are about $100/quart. You fellas have any other ideas or sources that might be a bit more reasonable? Or just an opinion on how to paint this area in general? Any close matches in Home Depot's selection?
I had some rust in the same places. Door sills, fuel pump access, etc. Since it’s all covered by carpet anyhow, I just used rattle-can Rust-oleum silver and called it good. Matches well enough to my original Zambezi and only a few bucks.
I don't think you need a whole pint or quart to paint the one door sill. Just get inexpensive generic primer from Home Depot. Then buy a rattle can of customized paint (see attached) for about $26.95.
Paintscratch is your best bet (or one of their online competitors).
Just make sure you prime it first if it's bare metal, and don't do what I once did... get the primer from the same source and make sure they are compatible.
