Default Transmission shifter: Need to replace the plastic insert

Howdy folks,

As I tried to remove the shifter ****, I twisted it instead of pulling straight up. The plastic part that is inside the shifter got shaved and now my **** wobbles. Nothing serious but a minor annoyance. So does anyone know the part number or a fix for the problem? The part I am looking for goes inside the metal shifter that the **** sits on top of.

Thanks!

Thx! I think I screwed up the piece that goes into the actual shifter stick and not the ****....

you mean the long plastic rod attached to the handle? or something else inside the handle (there is a grooved sleeve in there)?

there are only a few parts to the shifter handle and probably unlikely to find them sold individually....

are you sure you pushed the handle all the way down until it pops into place?

as a side note: the LR3 shift **** will fit too with some minor mods....

just a shot of the shift rod and removable plastic collar....

Having a wobbly **** isn't healthy... a little British humour…

Hey folks,

Sorry for the delay. Please take a look at the pic below. I think the clear plastic thing snapped.

So yeah, where do I get the plastic sleeve?

Many thanks!

There are two DIIs currently on the yard at the LKQ Pick Your Part in Charlotte. They're pretty well picked over, but I would expect you may be able to find what you need on one of those two trucks.

LKQ charges $3 to enter the yard. If you've never been to a self-service boneyard it's an adventure!
