Default Need top hat sleeves

I am looking to find out who supplies the best top hat liners for the 4.0. I have one overheated coolant burner and one worn out 4L that I want to do a complete rebuild on. I put a lot of work into the coolant burner thinking it was just head gaskets, rebuilt heads, water pump, timing chain, oil pump, coils, wires, lifters, all to find out its a cracked block. I want to use all these parts on a new build up of the high miler plus do the bottomend as well. I need to locate top hat liners and then have my machine shop fit them. I am in Canada and can't seem to fine too many shops that have done this. Super sick of ending up with not running rovers but can't help myself, addicted.

Just buy all your parts from Turner Engineering and then get with a competent machine shop locally.

You could also call Mark @ D&D in Michigan... he could sell you the parts and do the machine work. He's good, but not cheap...

I just did this build, PM me if you like and we can talk.

Well just got my TopHat sleeves Friday from Turner and am well on my way to having my engine out. Just have to remove engine mounts and drop her down and unbolt. Obviously going to do a complete rebuild at this point and was looking for a good cam for my build. Anyone recommend a good 4.0 cam shaft? Can't wait to tare this thing down and get her to the machine shop!!

Hey Groverdisco, I to am from Canada (BC) and could not find anyone willing or tooled to install the sleeves here and eventually sent the block to Calfiornia to have the work done. I have it back now and in the process of assembly with all new parts from top to bottom.

That's great! Call Crower Cams and talk to DJ- he can help you with cam selection and lifters. Make sure you tell him you have the Bosch engine management system- the nose of the cam will have to be machined differently. I bought a 50229 cam and their hi-lube lifters and have been pleased. It's basically a mild stage-2 cam, like what you'd find in an RV- designed to deliver a little more torque and an off-road friendly power-band.
