Default need you to share experience with OME

Guys, 2000 SE7 discovery.I'm seriously concidering switching to coils and am investigating potential problems that an Old Man Emu suspension system would cause.

For those running or that know about the medium duty OME lift,

Will this kit which I understand should lift the Disco approx 1 1/2 inch cause driveline vibrations ?????

Any problem with alignement like caster or camber????

I plan on running 265/70-16 tires with this lift. Any rubbing when the suspension travels????

Will I need to adjust the steering stops because of rubbing???

Any other negative effects of running this lift????

Would 245/75-16 which are the same diameter but narrower, be a better choice????

Thanks,

Darover[/align]

Also need to know if I'll need special front shocks because of my ACE system.

A comparison between the stock suspension with SLS and the Old Man Emu medium duty would help in my decision.

Disco Mike, anybody ?????

OME's will give you a better then factory ride, more controlled yet smooth.
779 front coils are a great way to go if you are not running a winch or bumper.
You will not experience and alignment or drive line problems.
I am running 265/75/16 with my HD OME lift, no cutting or trimming was required, once in awhile I hear of someone having to reset on the the steering stops to keep from rubbing on the radius arms.
Make sure you run the OME HD shocks, N107 and N108, also use their steering stabilizer.
As far as I am concerned there is no down side the OME products.
As for a tire choiceI have seen many people use the 245/75/15 with little or no lift.
I have ACE with the SLS as long as you stay at 3"s or less no special shocks are needed.
Get back to me if you want to get a good price on the OME's.

I checked on the OME site, and the front coils for medium duty are 777 and rear are 781. For the shocks, they state that if you want a smooth ride, you should go with N107C front, and N108C rear. They also state that the N107 and N108 offer a stiffer ride. The steering damper is supposedly OMESD02

Are these infos wrong???

Thanks for clearing that up about the ACE system. I heard lately that this system requires special shocks.

Don't go to the standard duty shocks, they will not help you with the typical Rover pitch and roll.
As for the coils, I would still suggest the 779's in front other wise you will have a pretty soft ride.Mike
