You can see the tab in the second set of photos that I ground down to allow it to seat to the gasket.

in the first you can see how warped it had become allowing in water, and I believe letting the mechanism to slip and not engage properly.

Have not had any recurrence of no start since rebuild.

Id recommend an inspection of the rivets, and preventative rebuild for anyone who has not had this issue.

Really, not a terrible fix at all. I dont see why it should not last a long time.

After a ABS 023 Code: Gear info not valid, I put in a good used XYZ Switch. Went easier this time, and did not need to re-brush the shaft or fiddle too much.

Hopefully, the 023 will not reoccur.

With the new XYZ Switch in it is starting better, but could also be because it is 30 degrees warmer than it has been today.
